Seven Buildbase & Hirebase volunteers embarked on a life changing expedition to help a school in Tanzania.
As part of a partnership with sustainable development charity Raleigh International, Buildbase invited staff to apply for the chance to spend seven weeks in Tanzania to help to build a school’s sanitation block.
Buildbase’s support for local, grassroots football came to life in a renovated clubhouse for Wick FC in Gloucestershire.
The club – which won a competition for £20,000 of building materials and support organised by Buildbase and the Daily Mirror newspaper– opened up its clubhouse renovation project with a special open evening staged for the local community.
Buildbase has been a Patron of construction industry charity CRASH for over a decade during which time we have played a practical and vital role in helping homeless people throughout the UK.
CRASH focuses on supporting frontline homelessness charities and hospices with their building projects by drawing the skills, products and generosity of Patron companies like Buildbase.
Non-league football clubs were invited to apply for £100k renovation programme. Alongside our partnership with the FA Vase and FA Trophy we gave clubs taking part in the competitions the chance to have their facilities transformed.
Buildbase Boston donated paint & brushes/rollers to Boston fire station for their Santa’s sleigh. The sleigh travelled around town adding some extra festive spirit.
The Central Region took on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge and raised over £13,000 for Cancer Research UK!
Buildbase donated building materials and tools to the ‘Curriculum Construction Project’ at the National Autistic Society’s Anderson School in Chigwell.
Sponsored and ran by the Anderson Foundation, the project was aimed at giving the school’s students a taster of work in the construction industry.
Buildbase Scunthorpe visited a local challenged area to help make changes for the good of the local community, as part of the ‘We Care Day’ organised by OnGo.
Their particular task was to paint fences. As well as giving their time they also supplied some of the fence paint on the day.
Buildbase Portsmouth held a charity cricket match in aid of CRUK. They managed to raise a massive £1,700 for Cancer Research UK.
Pauline East from Buildbase Coventry completed the Race for Life 5k Muddy Run, raising money for Cancer Research UK. With the help of her Buildbase colleagues she raised nearly £200!

Teams and Departments from across the country joined in with our ‘Best Dressed Christmas Tree’ competition whilst raising funds towards our Toughest Challenge target
The Buildbase Board completed an Iron man for their toughest challenge… they raised over £8,000!
34 colleagues from the Northern Division took up the challenge of walking the Yorkshire 3 Peaks to raise money for CRUK.
Our Commercial Team gave up their beds in exchange for sleeping bags to do a 12-hour sleepout. They spent the night sleeping rough in the carpark at our Lincoln branch and they are proud to have raised £855 for CRASH and £2,345 for Cancer Research.
The team at Coventry organised their 1st charity car wash for local charity: Zoe’s Place - a local baby hospice. They raised £250 by washing cars all afternoon.
Buildbase Gateshead held a brilliant charity fun day involving staff, customers and suppliers. All proceeds went to Cancer Research UK.
The Partnering central support team held a successful “Carwash for Cancer” day at Nottingham Buildbase. The team took shifts washing customer and staff cars throughout the day at £5 a pop. They raised a whopping £210!
Our Sutton in Ashfield branch got Regional Director Tim Reece involved in their target to cycle 100 hours in the month of May.
The Lloyd Worrall Willenhall office completed their toughest challenge by conquering Snowdon. They raised a brilliant £1,314!
Ty got his first taste of karting on his eighth birthday and he’s been a fan ever since. Within three months he had entered the TeamSport Indoor Go Karting competition and quickly progressed through the leagues. Two years on and Ty has secured his Motorsport UK Competition Licence to reach the top of the karting game. Ty’s karting career is supported by his family, particularly his dad Chris.

Buildbase‘s Stowmarket branch took first place among nearly 200 branches for its charity fundraising efforts.
The branch team raised more than £2,000 in 2018 for the local Stowmarket ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) charity and Cancer Research UK, our national chosen charity.

The fence at Hermitage Pre-School blew down in the high winds earlier this year. Paul Turner our Transport Auditor jumped into action with Newbury Buildbase & Hirebase donating and supplying all of the materials and plant/tool hire needed for Paul to build a complete new fence for them free of charge! As you can imagine the staff and students were overjoyed

from Buildbase Hounslow (Partnering), wrote to her neighbours to see if they wanted to help her in supporting West Middlesex Hospital after she’d contacted them to see if they needed anything.
As a result of the magnificent and outstanding generosity of the residents of the road she lives on, they accumulated this monstrous amount of food for the incredible NHS workers.
The workers were all delighted and the care packages were also shared with the ICU and AMU. Brilliant community spirit and a perfect demonstration of people standing together. Well done Latika!
Kim-Marie Wild of the National Accounts team has put her crocheting skills to good use.
Andy Morris’s partner, who is a nurse, had said that lots of nurses had been having problems with constant mask wearing and pain behind their ears.
Kim has created these as a solution for the mask elastic to wrap around on the back of the head.
These have now been donated to the nurses at Ripley Community Hospital in Derbyshire. Well done Kim!!
So with Mother’s Day and Easter passing, a number of families with kids had been unable to get to the supermarkets for those special occasions.
So for Mothers Day Rajiv Pattar, Finance team, put 150 daffodils on the drive and allowed people to help themselves, so at least the kids who were unable to get to the shops were able to still give their mums something for mother’s day.
Also for Easter, Rajiv placed 120 eggs on the drive so that people within the community who were unable to get the children’s eggs were able to still come and collect, so that in this strange time, at least the kids could feel a bit of normality 😊
Spot the Buildbase bag! Shrewsbury branch donated empty bulk bags which were used to store goody bags and water for the 2300 Shrewsbury 10k runners in early March.

We’re a finalist in the Construction category for The School Leaver Awards. This is a unique award in that it is judged purely off the back of feedback from our apprentices.
Hannah Storer (Evesham Buildbase - pictured left) & Chloe Jones (Cheltenham Buildbase - pictured right) went out to a DIY SOS reveal to a family in Cheltenham.
Cheltenham branch have donated a lot of materials to help them throughout the job.
Buildbase Calne donated 3 huge bags of gravel to the students and staff at Kingsbury Green Academy to help them relay their allotment paths.

Everyone at Tetney Rovers Football club would like to thank Buildbase for their continued support to the club.
