Internal Communications Manager – Oxford / Wythall / Nottingham
We have an exciting opportunity for an Internal Communications Manager to join the Buildbase team. This is a brand-new role so is a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to set our Comms strategy and truly modernise the way we communicate with our colleagues.
Reporting to the HR Director this role will work very closely with the wider HR Team as well as key areas in Operations, such as our Business Change Team.
Due to the current situation, you will be working from home initially, but must be able to get to one of our HR hubs in Oxford, Wythall or Nottingham.

We are Buildbase, we employ approximately 2300 brilliant people and we work from around 145 branches around the UK.

What we do is really simple, we sell building materials to the trade and public. We’re a ‘roll your sleeves up’ business with a can-do attitude and we take pride in serving our local tradespeople and communities.
The Team
The Comms Team is a brand-new team but will quickly play a huge role in our organisation. The joy of being in a new team is that you will able to set and help land the comms strategy and make a real difference to our colleagues engagement.
You will be part of a wider HR team who support the business on all people-related matters. Your HR colleagues are based in various locations around the UK but are never more than a mouse click or phone call away.

To be successful in the role you will need to have experience of working in a similar role and an in-depth understanding of all things internal communications including strategies, technologies, trends and techniques. You will be passionate about the people agenda whilst designing, developing, managing and implementing ideas to deliver against plans. We are looking for an individual who can work in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining a high attention to detail.
You will also have a creative flair and experience of creating both written and digital content. This content will have been translated from business objectives and strategic plans, and delivered across different channels and media.

What we’re doing about COVID-19
Like most businesses, we have had to change the way we do things to make sure all our colleagues are working safely during COVID-19. As your role is office based we are following the current Government guidelines so you will be working from home, however you must be able to get to work in one of our HR hubs when the Government advice changes.
